Gap x Barbie: Google Geospatial AR Filter
AR Experience Design
For the release of the highly anticipated GAP X Barbie clothing line, GAP and Mattel wanted to create a localised augmented reality experience in Times Square, NYC using Google'S Geospatial technology.
The experience allowed people to virtually 'take over' Times Square and interact with GAP's flagship store _ similarly to a Barbie dollhouse _ to discover the new collection.
Through research on site, user journey mapping, AI-generated storyboards and spatial interaction patterns, I addressed the various challenges of designing a cohesive, safe and intuitive AR experience in one of the busiest areas in the world.
As well as being the first-ever AR experience powered by Geospatial Creator in Adobe Aero, The project was showcased as a "best-in-class" case study by both Adobe and Google, inspiring numerous subsequent geospatial brand activations.
