how Can sound redefine space? This is the question we explored as part of a university collaboration with
Bittersuite, a company focused on multisensory audio experiences.
Working as part of a three-person team, we researched how materials and forms shape sound, ran exploratory experiments with spatial audio and sensory feedback, and iterated from low- to high-fidelity prototypes using interactive technologies _ such as conductive paint, microphones and the unity software.
The project resulted in a fully realised immersive installation that enabled participants to experience personal space through sound, by simultaneously navigating an interactive grid in a pitch-black room.
It received strong positive feedback from testers, tutors, and the partner company, validating the concept after a seven-week iterative design process.
